Drone Company in Atlanta

Founded 2013. Full aerial toolkit from cinema-payload multirotors to FPV. $5M aviation liability policy on file.

Georgia's volume means a drone company here has to handle several shows at once without degrading any of them, and has to move between the city, Fayette County and the studio campuses — each with its own permitting — without the production noticing the seams.

CineDrones has been a working aerial department since 2013, with the depth to put multiple units on a show and the insurance and permitting infrastructure a studio production office needs before it can hire you at all. We handle it end to end: airspace authorization, permits, the shoot itself, and delivery in whatever format post is expecting.

Permits and authorizations in Atlanta

The Georgia Film Office coordinates statewide, and individual jurisdictions across the metro each run their own permit process. A production moving between the city, Fayette County and the studio campuses is moving between permitting authorities.

Flying Atlanta

Atlanta sits under Hartsfield-Jackson, the busiest airport on earth, and its Class B shelf reaches across most of the metro. LAANC coverage is good here, but the ceilings are real and the traffic underneath them is constant. Suburban production country to the south sits closer to the approach paths than most crews expect.

We shoot the downtown skyline, the studio campuses, and the Georgia countryside — and we travel. CineDrones works nationwide, so if your production is basing in Atlanta and shooting somewhere else entirely, that is a normal week for us.

What a Atlanta booking includes

  • Multiple units available for shows that need them
  • Studio vendor packet and $5M aviation liability on file
  • Airspace authorization and permit coordination
  • Pre-production scout and shot planning with your DP
  • Delivery in the format your post pipeline expects

A full toolkit rather than one aircraft: cinema payloads, FPV, heavy lift, prop and stunt builds, and aerial lighting.

Drone Company in Atlanta — questions we get

What makes a drone company studio-approved?

It is a procurement process, not a creative one. Risk management reviews your insurance, safety record and operating procedures before a production office is allowed to hire you. We have been through it with the majors since 2013.

Can you put more than one unit on a show in Atlanta?

Yes. Multi-unit days are normal for us, and having a second aircraft on standby is often cheaper than losing an hour to a battery swap or a downed aircraft.

What insurance do you carry?

A $5M aviation liability policy, with certificates issued to the production naming whoever your legal department needs named. That is usually the first question a UPM asks and the one that ends most conversations with smaller vendors.
